1. Overview
Docuro is an offline PDF toolkit. It scans, converts and organizes documents entirely on your phone. We designed it so that we never receive your files or personal information. This policy explains what that means in practice.
2. Data we collect
None. Docuro does not collect, store or transmit personal data, device identifiers, location, contacts or the content of your files. There is no Docuro account and no Docuro server that holds user data.
The app has a setting for anonymous usage statistics. In the current version no analytics or crash-reporting SDK is included, and the app sends nothing regardless of this setting. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety section before the change ships.
3. On-device processing
All scanning, conversion, merging, splitting, rotation, compression and viewing is performed locally on your device. Temporary working files are kept in the app's private cache and removed when no longer needed. Results are saved where you choose, by default in Download/Docuro, and stay under your control.
Passwords you enter to open protected PDFs are used only in memory to open that file and are never stored or transmitted.
4. Permissions
- Internet — used only so that Google Play services can download the document scanner module on first use. Docuro never sends the content of your files over the network.
- Write external storage (Android 8.0–9 only) — needed on those older versions to save results into
Download/Docuro. On Android 10 and newer this permission is not requested. - No broad storage or media permissions — Docuro uses the system Photo Picker and file picker, so it can only access the files you explicitly select.
5. Google Play services and ML Kit
The document scanner is provided by Google ML Kit Document Scanner through Google Play services. On first use, Google Play services may download the scanner module. Scanned images are processed on your device and returned to Docuro; Docuro does not send them anywhere. Google Play services is operated by Google and is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Feedback and support emails
If you choose to send feedback from the app, it opens your email app with a pre-filled message containing your device model, Android version, app version and app language. You can review or remove this before sending, and you may optionally attach a screenshot. We receive only what you send, use it solely to answer you and improve the app, and delete it on request.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent or share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any. When you use the share button, Android's share sheet sends the file you chose to the app you chose; that transfer is under your control.
8. Data retention and deletion
We hold no user data on servers. Uninstalling the app deletes its private data. Files you saved remain in Download/Docuro until you delete them in the app or with a file manager. See Delete your data.
9. Children
Docuro is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data, it does not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Security
Keeping files on your device removes the risk of server breaches. Working files are stored in the app's private storage, and outputs are written completely before they are published to your Downloads folder, so partial files are not left behind. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so please protect your device with a screen lock.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes, for example when new features are released. The effective date above will change, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
